OSMANTHUS: I don’t particularly care for osmanthus, but mixed with tomato leaf it somehow becomes a new aroma. It’s a touch fruity and floral; adding apricot nuances that heighten the tomato and pull together the yellow citruses in the top.

TOMATO LEAF: We built the fragrance around this acidic green delight. The acidity is tamed thanks to the other ingredients, but a lot of the zesty green shines throughout the evolution of wear.

BERGAMOT: The beloved citrus of Earl Grey tea mixes here with other yellow citrus to add a zesty sweetness to the formula. Its brightness and familiarity help to soften the acidity of the tomato and carry the floral warmth of the osmanthus.

Villandry (pronounced VEE-lahn-dree) has one of the best examples of formal parterres in France and as such they are intricately and painstakingly designed. The gardens are separated into cohesive terraces, each with a different color scheme or design theme. Because of the importance of mixing fruit and vegetables in with their floral parterres, we sought to create a scent that brought out the notes of the vegetables and flowers that cover the rest of the gardens.

By thinking back to our own experiences in the gardens of Villandry, we designed a complex scent using plant-based essential oils that includes Guangxi osmanthus flowers, French tomato leaf, and Italian bergamot that mimics the geometric parterres of colorful vegetables and flowers, the many terraced balconies of intricate hedges and hues, and the lines of fruit trees, vines, and fountains.

Our Villandry botanical perfume oil is made with skin-friendly, natural golden jojoba oil as well as a complex blend of plant-based oils and compounds that includes Guangxi osmanthus flowers, French tomato leaf, and Italian bergamot. Each perfume is made in micro batches and then aged for a month so you get the strongest and freshest sensations possible.

All of our botanical perfumes, regardless of their format, are meticulously crafted exclusively from natural ingredients. As a result, they exhibit a distinct difference from the customary endurance of synthetic perfumes. Rather than filling the surrounding space with their aroma, our perfumes are designed to envelop and enhance the essence of the wearer and those in close proximity. Their longevity, spanning approximately 2 to 6 hours (sometimes more), is subject to an individual's unique body chemistry—although we commit ourselves to a minimum of 3 hours for a perfume formula, from the initial fragrance unveiling to the lingering traces of base notes on the skin.

In a departure from conventional perfumery, our creations are artfully constructed to undergo a metamorphosis over time. Unlike traditional fragrances that maintain a static olfactory profile, our perfumes evolve and transform, much like the gardens from which we’ve drawn inspiration. This transformative quality imparts a heightened sense of intrigue and complexity, offering the wearer an interesting journey of discovery with every application. Usage: On moisturized skin, apply roller ball to pulse points with desired amount of oil. Reapply as desired.
