Our Cheverny botanical perfumed hair oil is made with pure, natural jojoba oil as well as a complex blend of plant-based oils and compounds formulated to bring shine, nourishment, and gentle fragrance to hair.
Cheverny Perfumed Hair Oil
PAPYRUS: Also called cypriol, souchet, or nagarmotha, the oil distilled from the roots of this member of the sedge family adds a very warm and dry effect to the perfume. Studded with earthy, nutty facets, we felt this blended well with the subtle spiciness of the amber accord.
GOLDEN AMBER: We’ve used the traditional “amber” accord that contains labdanum - the sticky, leathery, smoky, and warm partner to the sweet and treacle effect of vanillas but paired it with other golden resins to marry the nuttiness of the papyrus.
SPICES: A mélange of warm spices perfumes the fragrance throughout the wear. We’ve chosen complimentary spices like cardamom, nutmeg, a hint of cinnamon, and other niceties to amplify the heart and base accords.
Nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, the Château de Cheverny (pronounced shehv-ehr-nee) stands proudly among centuries-old deciduous trees and towering conifers, surrounded by meticulously designed formal French gardens and a sprawling English-style park. This majestic, still-lived-in residence has not only captivated visitors with its timeless beauty but also inspired the chateau in The Adventures of Tintin, with its architecture and grandeur reflecting elements of the iconic Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. Hunting has been an enduring tradition at Cheverny for centuries, with vènerie—the noble sport of hunting roe deer and boar using hounds—forming an integral part of the château's legacy. Today, the estate is home to a renowned pack of over 120 Anglo-French hounds, cared for with a deep commitment to the tradition of the chase. With such a deep connection to the natural world—its ancient trees, rich hunting heritage, and exceptional autumnal displays—it seemed only fitting to craft a fragrance that embodies the essence of this storied estate.
By placing ourselves at Cheverny, we designed a complex scent using plant-based essential oils and compounds that includes Indian papyrus, golden amber, and rich spices to evoke the animalic nature of the hounds, the woody and earthy elements of the many giant linden, sequoia, and cedar, and the comforting warmth of rich interiors, colorful gardens, and other seasonal splendors.

All of our botanical perfumes, regardless of their format, are meticulously crafted exclusively from natural ingredients. As a result, they exhibit a distinct difference from the customary endurance of synthetic perfumes. Suggested Use: Place 3 to 5 drops into palms and work into dry (preferred) or damp, clean hair.
