The French Garden Collection

The Château d’Amboise has seen so many changes since its original conception in the twelfth century. Perhaps the most influential changes occurred during the Renaissance when Italian architects and designers (Leonardo da Vinci included) were brought over to appease the king’s desire for the latest in design trends. The gardens reflect this Italianate architecture as well - using strong vertical lines, repeating plant groupings, and shrubby Mediterranean natives. We decided it was important to not only create a scent that was fit for a king, but one that carried Italian influence too.

By placing ourselves in the gardens of Amboise, we designed a complex scent using plant-based essential oils that includes Moroccan cedarwood, European juniper berry, and Brazilian sweet orange to capture the river-edged elevated gardens of boxwoods and cypress, the simplistic Mediterranean plants in greens and greys, and the sweet flowers of jasmine and lily-of-the-Nile.

Each bath product in this series utilizes dried seasonal blooms and naturally derived micas to imbue them in red to create a sense of richness for both the architecture of the chateau and the simple, yet intricate nuances of its gardens.

Come on a journey with us to the gardens of Amboise as we take you through the scents of Italian influence.

"Amboise smells like a luxe resort, very clean and herbal. The juniper is so divine!"
