VIZILLE

Nestled in the foothills of the Alps lies the picturesque Château de Vizille. Its history dates back to one of the first starting points of the French Revolution and today houses a museum dedicated to its namesake. It is also well known in the region for its park and formal parterres - a large 320 acre complex of mountain forest, watery canals, recreational spots, and meandering paths. Often the backdrop of snowy winters, we thought this was the perfect inspiration for a sweeter wintery scent that combined soft florals, earthy resins, and musky spices.

By placing ourselves in the expansive landscapes of Vizille, we designed a complex scent using plant-based oils and compounds that includes South African honeybush, European caraway, and American tangerine to cultivate the effect of frosted flowers and snow-topped boxwood parterres, the gracefulness of swans gliding upon the canals, and the bittersweet sharpness of the arrival of winter.
