Nestled along the Indre River in the heart of the Loire Valley, the tranquil Château de l’Islette (pronounced eez-LEHT) offers a delightful escape. This charming Renaissance-era château, adjacent to an ancient wheat mill draped in vines, shares architectural similarities with the nearby Château d’Azay-le-Rideau but stands apart with its unique romantic appeal. The estate is a sanctuary of beauty, with intimate lavender-lined parterres and an expansive English-style park, where vibrant climbing roses intertwine with willow trees that gracefully weep along the riverbanks. Soft clouds of hydrangeas and other flowers bloom in pastel hues, enhancing the château's enchanting atmosphere. Adding to its allure, Islette is renowned as the meeting place of famed sculptors Rodin and Camille Claudel, whose passionate love affair and creative collaborations leave a rich legacy. This captivating setting felt like the perfect backdrop to present a perfume inspired by the sweet, honeyed scent of honeysuckle.

With the château and gardens in mind, we designed a complex scent using plant-based essential oils and compounds that includes Italian honeysuckle, Madagascar coffee flowers, and Madagascar vanilla to elicit the vine covered mill, the breezes passing over the misty river carrying sweet floating scents of cream and pink flowers, and to strengthen the romance that lingers in every corner of the property.
